Full view. All photos Write a review a photo. Very good. TravelG London, Canada 24 contributions. A fine southern Ontario campground. I've camped here twice, first time was a few years ago and it dropped to 8 degrees and poured rain the entire time, so that trip just turned into a survival mission. The most recent time, JuneI figured I'd give it another shot and went with my dog.

Check in was fast, our site was large and private, we enjoyed the dog beach, campground was quiet and we enjoyed ourselves. Written September 10, Might have been new gravel.

Surely they could water the ro or put down some sort of dust control down. The trailer dump station only has one hookup to dump sewage and the water fill is located in the same lineup. Be prepared for a long wait at rush times. When arriving get water at any empty campsite and don't wait in line.

The park staff don't offer any advice like this, you have to fend for yourself.

LaurieD Hamilton, Canada 81 contributions. I thought for such a nice park this was very surprising and disappointing because with a couple dump truck lo of small pebbles or sand dumped on those rocks on the shoreline, it could be a really nice spot Olivia K 28 contributions.

The campsites were not very private and the beach was very small and rocky. I will not be returning. Written November 12, Lissie72 Ontario 35 contributions.

A quiet park that we always enjoy. We camp at Selkirk at least once a summer and we always enjoy it. Selkirk is a small typically quiet park that more often attracts families and older folks. Like other parks it can get quite busy on the weekend as we experienced last weekend when we spent 4 nights there. However by Sunday afternoon we were one of just 22 in our campground about 45 sites and by Monday afternoon just one of There is lots of space to walk and bike and a decent playground area for the.

The water remains fairly shallow for quite some distance. Grounds are reasonably maintained and there are some discovery workshops available on weekends for kids too. There is only one comfort station so if you want more than that you better look elsewhere.

Our only beef would be the cleanliness of the vault toilets and comfort station. This was not so much the fault of the staff though using a broom to sweep and remove cobwebs would be recommendedbut more the disgusting habits of people who visit them. We will be back again next summer for sure! Written September 1, Holly G St. Catherines, Canada 61 contributions. Good trip-worst TP ever. Just got back from camping for 4 days with two couples.

Check in was easy. I had to ask for a park map. Firewood of course was wet but pretty much every provincial park you go to is like that. The site was a good size. We had Fit a 12 man tent, 8 man tent and a massive dining shelter plus two cars! Pretty good for tarping too. Bathrooms aka hole in the ground were close and water was even closer. Pretty quiet and private too.

The campground was nice with a massive green space instead of a beach. Quiet there too! Campground is very close to port Dover. Jess A 1 contribution. I myself have been coming here for 20 plus years and wanted to keep that going with my.

But I will never return this campground has really gone down In the last 5 years. Noise and partying at all hours of the night. You get no where with complaints. You get told that there will be security but they are nowhere to be found or seen.

Beach trips: what to bring to the beach and how one parent can carry it all

Horrible horrible place to camp now. I have never in my life of going there seen so many empty camp sits! I will be surprised if they have any business left with the amount of times myself and my family have had to call the cops In just one night.

Jodi H St. Catharines, Canada 10 contributions. Small and quiet park.

We just returned from 5 days here. We stayed at site 84 which was very grassy and nicely shaded.

The problem occurred during an afternoon torrential downpour. Our site flooded and became a muddy mess! All around the fire pit and in front of the trailer.

Selkirk provincial park

Once it dried out after a day of hot hot sun we were good to go again. We were pleased to have a water hookup at our site as we have never had this in a provincial park before. There is no beach to speak of and not much to do.

My husband and I wanted a few days of peace and quiet and relaxing around the fire and this is exactly what we got. I would not recommend bringing children here as they would be quite bored.

Overall the park is well taken care of. The showers have been updated and the washroom was clean the once or twice I was there. Ann J 3 contributions. The best for a family vacation under the stars. Its traditional to camp for our daughters birthday, almost every year we pick selkirk!
